Eli
Port is certified by the
American Board of Health Physics and the
American Board of Industrial Hygiene and is a registered
Professional Engineer in Safety Engineering. He has over forty
years of experience in health physics including safety evaluation
of the world's largest production accelerator, assessment of
environmental radiation doses at the European Organization for
Nuclear Research (CERN), dose reduction in public, industrial,
institutional, and academic settings, and mitigation of
environmental radiological impacts.
Mr.
Port has over thirty years of experience as an academic instructor
at Northwestern University and at the Illinois Institute of
Technology where he started and co-directed a Professional Masters
program in Health Physics. He has designed short courses for
federal, industrial, academic, institutional and health-care
organizations in licensing, compliance, public and worker dose
reduction, internal and external dosimetry, DOT regulations,
applied radiation safety, and public awareness. Mr. Port is
a past president of the
Midwest Chapter of the Health Physics
Society.
